Janice Landry has won four national awards for her writing and mental health advocacy.
On March 1, 2025, she was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal from the Government of Canada for her writing, books, and national mental health advocacy. Janice was nominated by the Honourable Lena Metlege Diab, MP for Halifax West. Janice is grateful and humbled by this major career highlight and honour.
Janice has been a journalist for nearly four decades, graduating from the University of Kings College, Halifax in 1987. Janice has an honours degree in journalism and graduated with distinction.
Janice has worn many hats over her lengthy career including television reporter, producer, anchor, university instructor, web writer and editor, video script writer and producer, mental health advocate and public speaker.
