Janice Landry has won four national awards for her writing and mental health advocacy. Most recently in 2025, Janice was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal from the Government of Canada for her body of work and longtime national advocacy.
Janice has been a journalist for four decades, graduating from the University of Kings College, Halifax, in 1987. Janice has an honours degree in journalism and graduated with distinction. Janice has worn many hats: television reporter, producer, anchor, university instructor, web writer and editor, social media manager, video script writer and producer, mental health advocate, and public speaker.
Janice owns Groundhog Productions and was born on Groundhog Day. She is retired from freelance contract work but draws on her journalism training and extensive experience for her non-fiction writing, professional speaking/hosting, volunteerism/mentorship, and mental health advocacy.
